Student Visa

Officially part of the Appendix Student Routes. Replaces the Tier 4 (General) Visa.

The Student Visa is the standard visa for most types of study in the UK, including university courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The student must have been offered a place on a qualifying course of study, and issued with a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS).

The applicant for the Student Visa must meet minimum maintenance levels. The exact money amount required varies, being higher for courses taught by a university located inside London.

Recent changes have made the Student Visa more attractive, as students starting their course on or after September 2019 may become eligible for the Post-Study Work Visa following graduation.
