Student (Part-time) Visa

Officially part of the Appendix Student Routes. Replaces the Tier 4 (General) Visa.


Prior to 2018, students studying on a part-time basis was not eligible to apply for the Student Visa. Fortunately, this is now possible.


The Student (Part-time) Visa is broadly similar to the full-time Student Visa equivalent, but with two key differences: first, the Student (Part-time) Visa is only available for students studying courses at the postgraduate level. Second, while on the Student (Part-time) Visa you may not work or bring family members with you.

The UK government fees for the Student Visa are: £348 if you are applying outside the UK, and £475 if you are applying in the UK.

You might also need to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) and the Biometric Enrolment Fee.
