Start-up Visa

Officially part of the Appendix Start-up Route. Replaces the Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) Visa.

The Start-up Visa is open to an applicant who has never established a business in the UK, and who has an idea for a new business that is "innovative, viable and scalable".

A key hurdle to applying for the Start-up Visa is the requirement that the business idea must have been endorsed by an approved higher education institution or an approved business organisation. The inclusion of higher education institutions means that this route is useful for those thinking of going into business after the end of their university programs.
