Students coming to study in the UK who are under the age of 16 should apply for the Child Student Visa. Students who are 16 or 17 coming to the UK to study A-levels have a choice between the Child Student Visa and the general Student Visa. 


The applicant must have been offered a place at an independent school, and parental consent is required.


A child studying in the UK on the Child Student Visa allows one of his/her parents to join them in the UK on the Parent (of Child Student) Visa.

The UK government fees for the Child Student Visa are: £348 if you are applying outside the UK, and £475 if you are applying in the UK.

You might also need to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) and the Biometric Enrolment Fee.
