Child Dependent (of Visa Migrant) Visa
Many UK visa categories allow the main applicant to bring their partner and their child to live with them in the UK. Examples include the Skilled Worker Visa, the Innovator Visa, etc.
A child dependent will usually increase the financial requirement for the overall visa application. For example, the Student Visa requires a maintenance level of at least £1,023 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses taught be universities outside London, while the same student, bringing their partner and one child, will need a maintenance level of at least £2,383 per month.
Generally, the immigration permission the child dependent receive will be in line with that of the main applicant.
Note that in general the child may be eligible only if both parents are applying for or already have valid UK visas (excluding the Visitor Visa), or if the visa migrant has sole parental responsibility over the child. This requirement does not apply if the child was born in the UK.
